fleur GRENIER pewter homeware.

What is Pewter?
Pewter is an alloy and standard English pewter is 92% tin, 2% Copper and 6% Antimony.  All of the pewter that I use is lead free, which means it is safe to use for eating and drinking from and also unlike the old pewter that people traditionally think of it will not tarnish and go a dull grey.

My designs range from one-off pieces to tableware, such as cheese knives, serviette rings, desk clocks and vases. Fluid sculptural forms are the key words I use with my work, with the sculptural not being detrimental to the function of the piece.

All of my designs are individual and sculptural in style and some incorporate other materials in conjunction with the pewter, such as wood, glass and Welsh slate.

My current range ‘Maris’, has developed from a series of drawings that I did of Bladderwrack seaweed which can be found on the beach near to where I live in Littlehampton, West Sussex. Movement and fluidity are the main influences for my work and each piece is designed to capture these elements.
