fleur Grenier Pewter Homeware
My designs range from one-off pieces to tableware, such as cheeseknives, serviette rings, desk clocks and vases. Fluid sculptural forms are the key words I use with my work, the sculptural not being detrimental to the function of the piece.
All of my designs are individual and sculptural in style and some incorporate other materials in conjunction with the pewter, such as wood, glass and Welsh slate.
My current range ‘Maris’, has developed from a series of drawings that I did of Bladderwrack seaweed which can be found on the beach near to where I live in Littlehampton, West Sussex. Movement and fluidity are the main influences for my work and each piece is designed to capture these elements.
What is Pewter?
Pewter is an alloy and standard English pewter is 92%tin, 2% Copper and 6% Antimony. All of the pewter I use is lead free, which means it is safe to use for eating and drinking from and also unlike the old pewter that people traditionally think of it will not tarnish and go dull grey.

homeware – MARIS COLLECTION
My pewter homeware range captures the elements that are important to me with my work. When designing new pieces the key words I use are fluidity, sculptural and flowing, without any of these being detrimental to the function of the piece.
Living so close to the sea this often has a influence on my work either as a space to think or more literally with the pieces in my recent collection. My current range ‘Maris’ developed from of drawings that I did of seaweed on the beach in Littlehampton where I live. It is the movement and flowing lines that I am trying to capture to create mini sculptures that will bring joy to the person using them and enhance the space where they are placed.
