This series of pieces were developed to explore memories of childhood games associated with nature, bringing the fun element of these outdoor games indoors and on a larger scale.

 

 

Title: FIND THE FOUR-LEAF CLOVER

Materials: Pewter, Customised Lightbox and Steel Rod.

As a child I would always be hunting for the elusive lucky four-leaf clover and for me this has not changed as a grown up!  Within the 100’s of positive and negative cut out three leaf clover there is on four leaf one, can you find it?

 

Title: FALLING HELICOPTERS

Materials: Pewter, Steel and  Walnut

 

Title: SIX-ER

Materials:  Pewter, Teak and Felt.

The conker has a very tactile quality, even with the pointed spikes on the shell you want to pick them up and explore them.  Every Autumn a collection would build up looking for the winning one!

 

Title:  TIME STANDS STILL

Materials:  Pewter, Walnut, 3d Printed plastic, Plaster, Steel Piano Wire.

Influenced by the dandelion clock, the traditional game where the seeds are blown from the dandelion and however many puffs it takes to blow them all away is the time.

 

Title:  DO YOU LIKE BUTTER?

Materials:  Pewter, Gold plate, Gold Leaf and Powder coated Steel.

I loved as a child I loved it when you held a buttercup under somebody’s chin it would reflect a golden glow onto their skin.  This piece is designed so and adult or a child can stand in front of one of the flowers and when their face is near the gold plate reflects a bright golden glow.
